"Hey there, my name is Finn — I’m the founder of The Gold Coast Torch and a proud local who's lived here for over 15 years.
Truthfully speaking, I'm just a regular guy. I didn’t come from a journalism background. In fact, I'm a hermit – I keep to myself, have a private Instagram, and just love building things that provide value. Right now, I juggle two supermarket jobs (one in Surfers Paradise and the other one in Harbour Town), working 60 hours/week stacking shelves. Every spare moment I have is poured into building The Gold Coast Torch. It’s honest work — and it keeps me grounded.
I’ve always been passionate about technology and innovation. I believe that technology and media can create real change, especially at the local level. We're starting to gain traction, and already have an incredibly high 'open-rate' from our email subscribers.
My vision is simple: build the Gold Coast’s most trusted news platform — one that holds people Accountable, reinforces Reality, and tells the Truth (ART).
From rising youth crime, to local community wins that deserve celebration – we have it covered. Content on social media disappears fast, and with 50+ different suburb-based groups on the Gold Coast, important local stories get buried in chaotic social media algorithms. This platform brings everything together into one central hub, combining the same type of content from across the city, while still letting you browse by your specific suburb or area."
