Residents in Pacific Pines and surrounding northern suburbs have been put on alert following reports of suspicious activity involving a group of individuals allegedly attempting to access parked vehicles.
The incident, which occurred at approximately 10:00am on Saturday, April 25, was captured on CCTV along Manra Way.
Footage shows a dark grey Ford Mustang, reportedly stolen, driving slowly up and down the street before turning around after spotting a Mercedes-Benz AMG sedan parked in a residential driveway.
The teens had driven up and down the street scoping the Mercedez Benz before making a move.
A passenger then exited the vehicle wearing a makeshift face covering and approached the parked car. The individual appeared to be carrying a kitchen knife and was seen checking the vehicle and searching through the front interior, reportedly looking for valuables.
The individual left the scene empty-handed before returning to the vehicle, which then drove off.
The young thug couldn't find any valuables on the front seats, so fled empty-handed.
A local resident who reported the incident stated:
“There was a Mustang driving around with people scoping cars out, one person wielding a large kitchen knife. Police have been notified and it has been logged.”

Queensland Police have been made aware of the situation.
While no items were reported stolen in this specific incident, the behaviour has raised concerns among locals, particularly given the time of day and the presence of a weapon.
Residents are being reminded to:
- ensure vehicles are locked at all times
- remove valuables from sight
- report any suspicious activity to police immediately
A Note From Us
You may have noticed we’ve been a little quieter than usual over the past 6 months. Behind the scenes, we’ve been working on something much bigger.
After multiple delays, setbacks, and several rejections during the app approval process, we’ve officially launched StreetBuzz — a new community-driven mobile app built specifically for local updates, safety alerts, and real-time information across the Gold Coast.
StreetBuzz is designed to give locals a central place to:
- share public safety alerts
- report suspicious activity
- post lost, found or stolen items
- highlight community incidents and positive stories
- stay informed about what’s happening in their street and suburb
Everything is structured by location, meaning you’ll see updates relevant to your area — not lost in a crowded, chaotic Facebook feed. This platform has been built from the ground up, independently, after years of running local community groups and launching The Gold Coast Torch website which has amassed hundreds of loyal subscribers and readers.
From selling golf balls at 12 years old, to reselling sneakers, to running community groups with tens of thousands of members — the goal has always been the same: build something real that actually adds value to the community and helps everyday Australians.
StreetBuzz is the next step in that journey.
It’s important to note: we are not replacing traditional news, and we are not replacing Facebook groups. What we’re building is a platform that democratises public safety and offers curated community content at your fingertips — a place where locals can quickly access relevant, structured updates about their street and suburb.
Right now, the app is still in its early stages.
That means:
- the feed won’t be perfect yet
- content will build over time
- and it will take a small group of early users to get things moving
As subscribers/readers of The Gold Coast Torch, you are part of that early group.
There are around 500 of you here — and your support, posts, and engagement in these early stages will play a major role in shaping what StreetBuzz becomes. If you see something happening in your area — post it. That’s how this grows.
