A home in the River Links estate of Helensvale was targeted in a broad daylight break-in on Sunday, May 26, at approximately 2:20PM. Two males and one female forced entry through the rear sliding doors of the residence and made off with multiple stolen items.
The suspects, believed to be three young Caucasian individuals, fled the scene in a white Mazda BT-50 ute with NSW registration FBY20K. This vehicle has since been confirmed as stolen and is not connected to the homeowners.
You can see they're prospecting the area before reversing and pulling into the driveway.
In a bid to retrieve their belongings, the victims are offering a $5,000 reward for the safe return of all stolen items. If you have any information or footage that could assist, please send a private message. All tips will be treated confidentially and respectfully.
Two of them look around the property for an unlocked door or entry point.
Community Reacts with Anger and Concern
Locals were quick to respond online, expressing both sympathy and outrage:
Adrienne May: “What a very sad country we live in today. With these horrible youths who have no respect for other people’s property that they worked so hard for. I really hope karma comes their way very soon!”
Damon Gibson: “This is why I have large, loud dogs for when I’m not home and legal implements for when I am.”
Taylor Proberts: “Broad daylight 😡 how off-putting and disturbing is the burglar wearing shorts and no shirt 😲 While the rest of us are at work to pay their dole cheques.”
Kellie Brackenrig: “Ken Armitt they broke into my house in Tallebudgera Monday morning at 12.10am. The white ute is ours, the grubs stole it from our driveway. I’m so sorry that they have used it when they broke into yours.”
Steve McBurney: “And when they get caught, they usually get out on bail and reoffend. The system is letting us all down.”
Paul Jason Uhrhane: “Check Facebook Marketplace for all the items. They are probably posting the goods from the break-in as they drive away in the stolen car, from the new stolen phones they got. Sad state of affairs we're in, and unfortunately it's only going to get worse. There is no deterrent for them, and they know it. Broad daylight and not a fear in the world.”
