The Gold Coast community is being reminded of the dangers and legal consequences of laser misuse after a 73-year-old man was charged in connection with an alleged laser strike incident targeting a police helicopter.

A 24-year-old woman reported being followed by a man along Hedges Avenue, starting in Broadbeach and continuing to Mermaid Beach. Around 10:10PM, the man allegedly grabbed her and attempted to force her toward Ken Mansbridge Park.
